What is HSK?

The Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK) is China's standardized test for Chinese language proficiency. HSK 2.0 has 6 levels with ~5,000 vocabulary words total. HSK 3.0 (effective July 2026) expands to 9 levels with ~11,000+ vocabulary words, adding new levels and restructuring the exam. Each vocabulary page below includes the complete word list with pinyin and definitions to help you prepare.
